Art does not always have to be like Monet’s water Lilies or Mozart’s compositions. What you create as a form of self-expression is ART. Art is a subjective expression with limitless boundaries.
Meraki is our upcoming talent show for specially-abled children. The term itself means putting something of yourself into your work. The talent show is a place for children to showcase their talent ranging from (but not limited to) art, poetry, dance, and music. Meraki aims to motivate children to embrace who they are and to hold on to their dreams.
Every child is unique, with limitless talents. Fostering creativity among children helps them develop socially, mentally, and emotionally. There is no right or wrong path when it comes to art. And our initiative, Meraki aspires to show just that! We want to empower children with special needs and help build their confidence by recognizing their talents.
We at Margika strive to fight the stigma and work towards creating awareness for specially-abled children. We fulfill this mission by providing resources and training of the best practices for treatment and education from across the globe to caregivers, parents, and teachers of children who are gifted.
How does Meraki benefit the children, you wonder?
i) It gives them a safe space to showcase their talents while also bringing about awareness of the tremendous abilities of children with special needs.
ii) A participation prize will be awarded to each one for their courage to share their talents.
iii)An opportunity to let their inner Picasso’s flow freely.
iv)Meraki can be a platform for children with special needs to interact with the community and bond with others.
